People and protest – a story about taking a stand.

Kowhai Group are currently researching 'People and protest – a story about taking a stand' for a Elsie Locke Writing competition.

Watch this video on Malala's heroic stand for children in her country.

We were fortunate to hear about this amazing female during our speeches in class this term because Aljual's speech was on Malala.

Comment on the following:
How do you feel about Malala's belief of trying to change the world?
What was the key message you got from this video?

Out and About

Week 6  - Tough Guy and Girl Challenge
What an awesome experience!!!!!

Week 7 Inter-Intermediate Hockey at Gallagher Hockey Centre.

Week 7 Team Trip to Maungatautari Ecological Island.
Very educational from an 'Environmental Guardian' perspective and we could see how much work has happened to allow the forest to return back to it's original state before the pests were introduced to New Zealand.

Comment on what did you learn from this experience and how can we transfer it to the rejuvenation of the plantation at our school.

Fabulous Art Comes To Life

Art:
A special thanks Whaea Te Wiata  and Room 1 art class in 2015 for creating these wonderful clay ornaments based on their cultural identity.

This week we finally had the art installed outside of our classroom. Faith and Ella used long wires to hold up the clay art that they made last year and lots of super glue to stick the art together.

A special thank you to Faith and Ella for putting the finishing touches to our classroom garden and uploading this post.
