Week 5
Has come and gone, and it was a week where students built on their co-operative skills in many ways.

1. Developing language ideas with a partner through a word column: adjective, noun, adverb, verb.

2. Caleb and Laura (Room 1 Class Councillors) published an Easter Raffle notice to encourage as many Room 1 people as possible to bring an item to school.

3. We had several students on Thursday afternoon taking on the role of 'Teacher' as they helped other students learn about creating Blogs, up-loading Wordle or making a slides on google.docs for their Hei Mihi,

4. The Sports Councillors are teaching co-operative games in P.E. / PC (Player Centred sessions).

5. Finally Room 1 have worked together to achieve 25 class points. They are going to challenge Room 8 on Thursday Week 6 (because we were very busy in Week 5).

Please leave a comment about your best co-operative time at school so far in Room 1 and explain how you demonstrated Manaakitanga.

Because the acronym TEAM says it all!!!

P.S. (Post Script) - Room 1 learnt about acronyms in class today and we found out there are heaps of acronyms out there.

Did you know if you Google 'What does P.S. stand for?'
The search found 231!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Technology is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Well i liked game haki as it is related to soccer. It relates to manaakitanga because it is cooperative game and it needs to have team work, more people, more learnings, more cooperation and more helpers)

  6. I really like the co-operative times of Food Tech with Natalya, and how we both displayed Manaakitanga by working together to make the best dishes in the class (in my opinion) using the least time.

  10. Re-posted from Sam (Just check you have the correct comment with the right post.)
From your kind teacher Mrs Armstrong

I think that the games we have played were great but we should play bench ball I have played it at my old school and you have to work as a team. So I think it will be a great game for us. You only need two benches and 4 balls and I think everyone will love this game.

    1. I like your thinking Sam - I don't know bench ball. So tell our Sport Councillors.

  11. Knots is a really cool game because you have to step over arms and duck under arms to untangle yourself.
